Anticipation

Turning in the fire,
My mind is a glowing iron

The world smells like new leather,
And it’s waiting for me to burn into it.

What a lesson in what a poem can and should be! This is an idea I won't find myself forgetting. The poem reminds me of when I felt just that way -- when I was twenty-four -- even today I almost feel as if I could set the world on fire. Thanks very much, Deborah. Diana Strelow
